After a week of gray skies, better know as the shade "Ohio Gray", the sun came out today very very bright. What a nice change from the gloominess we experience during winter in the midwest. Even tho the temperature is only a mere 12 degrees, the sun makes it seem warmer. Makes one want to leave the "cabin" and venture outside today. We got a dusting of snow overnight, but thankfully, not enough to have to shovel. After viewing the weather channel and seeing what got dumped on other mid-western states, we are quite lucky. We are getting ready to run errands, and then go for a fish dinner at our local seafood restaurant. Then we can return home knowing "we got out, while the sun was shining". Look out!! The rest of the week is to be snow everyday, with highs only in the 20's. Guess Winter is Really here!

Oh-Ten? Two-thousand and ten? Ten? What will you say when you have to say 2010 aloud?
I have been saying "Twenty-Ten", but have heard some saying Two O, One O...which sounds a little odd to me. Makes me wonder what those living in 1910 said when the year changed. Did they say "One Nine, One O" or just simply ...Nineteen Ten?" Hmmmm...

Well, the Christmas Holidays are over now, and it's time to take down the tree and all the decorations. We shared Christmas Eve with all the family at Dad and Jean's annual party. Jean prepared a nice buffet style dinner and set up a dessert table in the great room. We all competed for prizes by playing games. Everyone was a winner and had a great time. Christmas morning, we headed to Jen's house for our annual Christmas morning brunch. We got to see what all the children got from Santa, then we shared a nice brunch with bagles, donuts, and lots of good hot coffee. Matt's Mom & Dad stopped by and brought us a lovely poinsettia. We all had such a nice visit while keeping toasty warm in front of the roaring fire that Matt built for us.

This is a very entertaining book for dog lovers. Whether you currently have a dog, or have had dogs in your lifetime, you can learn so much from a precious pet. The author shares childhood memories of growing up with his dogs, and the close bonds he formed with each dog he owned. He also writes from the dog's point of view, which tends to be very comical. My favorite chapter was A Cold Can of Meat is Still a Feast, which states how such a simple thing is such a big deal to a dog.
